Good charger working on 230V and 12V (Hyperion EOS 0606i?)
Hello,
As my family of batteries has grown i managed to buy a new charger. I'm from Europe (Poland) so i will need a charger that will work on 230 volts (it would be nice if it could also work on 12 volts). It has to charge: NiMh, NiCd and Pb (at least 12V) and maybe in the future also LiPo's. I have found a charger that seems to meet my requirements: Hyperion EOS 0606i Is it a good charger? I assume that it is (it's one of three most recently bought chargers on amainhobbies :)) but i want to know what you think. :) Do you have any other suggestions? If yes, it would be good if this charger was availible on amainhobbies or eventually on TH. Thank you in advance. Donat |
There is nothiong wrong with the charger you linked; it does all you require. If you're going to only be using 2S lipos it will handle that as well. If you use 3S or higher cell countrs or need /want to do mor ethan 1C charging, the 0606i will be limited by its 650 charger output limit.
This is a recent charger - its AC/Dc (120 or 240) and has 100watts of output power. It will also do the other chemistries. Its had good reviews like the 0606i, main diff is it just has more charger power - http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...r-Cycler-6S-8A |
Thank you,
That Dynamite looks good. The only thing i don't really like is that knob (is it handy?) - in therms of appearance i like Hyperion more (but this is the least important aspect). I have got one more question about that Dynamite... Are you sure that it will work on 230V and 12V? On the producers page there is no detailed information... : "AC/DC input provides flexible charging capabilities" I have found another charger with similar functions - Bantam E-Station BC6. It's not availible on amain at the moment but if it's better than Hyperion (or Dynamite) i will wait. :) Please help me to choose (mainly between Hyperion and Bantam). |
If you google the charger and find the orig page by Horizon and look at specs, it says its 120-240v fwiw -
http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...064#quickSpecs AMain is not a Bantam dealer. You may have a very long wait. The BC-6 is a 50watt charger and has a max charge rate of 5amps and priced at a little more than the 0606i. Of the Bantam or th Hyperion, I'd pick the Hyperion - it is being maintained as current - there have been at least 3 models produced with improvements in each. Make sure you get teh most current model if you pick this one. It's the 3rd charger shown on their charger page - http://media.hyperion.hk/dn/eos/ |
