FUTABA CRYSTAL QUESTION

just got 2 new futaba crystals and on one side it sez type 72-10 so I plugged into the RX and nothing happened
now,,,,,,the original crystal sez type 72-12 , in other words the old crystal works and the new ones dont, know anything about that?

i think the -10 or -12 meant the channels.

Did you change the crystal on the Tx to -10?

turns out the 2 new XTALs are the culprit and has something to do with that 10-12 thing

72 is for air use, its not legeal to use for surface anyway.

ws refering to the "type # not freq.....altho could have something to do with the 72-12 thing , that was a BIG MESS that fianally got cleared up

Correct, Type is not frequency for Futaba crystals. Good that you got yours figured out.

For what it’s worth the info is available on the Futaba site, check the chart on the bottom right for a basic description of types. For the OP a difference between Dual Conversion and short FM crystals.

Sorry, my bad, saw the 72 and didn't read much farther.
