Victor Engineering..is it true??

I have heard that someone is repairing and updating them with lipo capability. Has anybody else heard of this???

I thought victors could already charge lipos. I gave mine to my grandpa to use for other than rc stuff. as I recall it had a lipo compatible profile on it??

I have an Ig3000 and IQ2 software mode on it.
Some people refer to voltage charge-mode
Closest I come is peak charge. That one as well as the other modes are based upon cell(nimh)count.

No voltage to be set by me personally.
I also know a few Vic's had a pre-production type software wich had a lipo-mode.
But thats pretty rare.

A copy of that eprom, or firmwarefile I'ld be VERY interested in.

Can you check and please tell the details for this lipocharge mode.
I'ld be most gratefull.

Kind regards

My understanding, voltage push mode can charge lipos. Just make sure the flex is off. If I remember Super 2's had that, not super 3's.

I have 2 Super 2/3 that sam capri in canada fixed up for me, but now are not working at all. I have 2 quad IQ's that do work, and use from time to time, and 2 Flex IQ's.

I will look for a local guy to repair mine. If I need to get info on the components within the board, does anybody have that info? I know Sam in canada did, but he has stopped doing those for a long time now. Im sure he has the info, but I am sure someone else does.

No! Been a few years since I used one my Victors but I am 99.9999% sure that voltage push was just another name for peak charging. You will quickly kamikaze your lipo if you charge it under that setting.

From what I understand the only Victors that could charge lipos were a few pre-production units that Maxtec tested before going out of business. The original Super IQ2 and IQ-3000's can not charge lipos.

Victor chargers were cool for their time. With lipos though that time has pretty much passed.

The voltage push method allows you to set the voltage. So if you set the voltage to 7.4 with flex charge off, then you shouldn't have problems. I have read on these forums (if my memory serve's me correctly) that was the charge method some guys were using with no issues.

My guess is kcobra is right imho.

I have the IQ2+IQ3000 firmware on my Vic.
It does not show voltage pull.
The only voltage to adjust/set are stopdropvoltage (nimh) charge #5 in the charge menu
Or Voltage cutoff when discharging. That's it for me.

Any further details?
BTW love the input just keep it coming please.
We'll get there I'm sure
