Flight failure

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could help me out with a flight failure i had and advise if what happened would be the cause of the failure.

I have a Hitec 8 channel dual conversion 36mhz reciever that i have been flying at my local club now for 12 months and no issues,

I bought a new plane last week and decided to put my 8 channel hitec reciever into this plane.

The plane had new Hitec HS 225BB servos in it and 3 of the leads needed to be extended,

the leads were cut on one of the servos to extend it with 22awg wire but when soldering back together the red was soldered to the yellow and the yellow to the red.

i had a y harness on the 8th channel as i needed the 8th channel for dual elevators, on the other end of the y harness was the 4.8v battery.

when the servos were plugged in and the system turned on the whole system went hay wire and the rudders and elevators started going balistic.

In my wisdom i thought i had plugged the plug in back to front which i hadnt and turned the system on again and the same thing happened all servos went crazy.

I took the servo out and had the wires changed around to their correct colours and resoldered.

I took the plane to the field and all seemed fine took the plane off and flew to one end of the strip and came back past, on the second pass i went further,
App 400metres away and the plane lost signal and flew away at full speed until it smashed into the ground.

All wires were secured in the plane with zip ties the battery was velcroed in plus double sided tape underneath to hold it inplace also. Same with the reciever.

I need to know if the soldering of the yellow to the red wire, which is the signal line be the reason for the loss of signal please.\
