Running a sensored motor without a sensor wire?

Will running a sensored motor without a sensor wire cause damage to the motor?

whether you can run a sensored motor w/o sensor wires depends on the esc you are using.

Speed Passion, Tekin can operate in this situation, while Novak GTB cannot. Dont know about LRP.

Dont worry, if the esc can support this, it will do no harm.

I personally have tried this on Tekin and SP esc with a damaged sensored motor and there is no prob.

Ya if its a sensored only controller it will not work at all, but sensorless controllers can run most motors no problem. I say most because some sensorless controllers have a hard time starting certain low kv motors. Im not sure if it has something to do with the type of windings or what, but certain 17.5 and 21.5 motors will cog no matter what on sensorless controllers.
