Building, or modifying circuit board.

I have a mega motors 1:28th scale truck, and I have been modifying it heavily, in hopes of smoking a couple of xmods. Anyhow, I was looking at the circuit board, and it seems much too weak to apply the extra 3 volts that I want to. Any idea how to beef it up, or even get another board, or build one? I am just afraid that I am going to smoke the board, and have to buy a whole new car in order to get it running again... Any help is appreciated...

What is it that looks 'weak'? If a few traces look bad or too thin, if you're good with a soldering iron and have one with thin tip, you can jump it with a piece of wire which would "strengthen' that trace.

I mean voltage wise. I think that it won't be able to handle the kind of juice I want to run through it. I was going to add a second 2 section battery pack. It would then boost me up to 5 batteries on the car. (AA). I think like the equivalent to 7.2v after I am finished.

Sounds like you may be out of luck. If the board can't take the extra voltage, I don't know what you could do about it. Guess you could look into upgrading it component by component, but might not be cheap or effective in long run. Theres a whole lot more going on with these than is obvious.

I read your other thread and your options seem pretty limited.

agreed
circuit board modification isn't for the faint of heart, nor is it for the unskilled solderer or newbie needing to ask how to do it.
seems as if this is just a case of someone's wishfull thinking, and if they really want to do all that that they'd be better off investing in a better quality upgradable vehicle like a mini-z instead of wasting their time with a toy-grade rc.

there is this hop-up or upgrade board/fet board from atomicmod, maybe this would a good upgrade to make it handle higher power?!?

I don't happen to have 100 bucks laying around. But I have been looking into the mini z stock boards... I would assume they would be able to handle all the juice I could throw at them, especially with a set of stacked fets! :D I am working on a motor right now, that should be able to blow away a lot of other types of motor, for it's size class. Not going to post details just yet, want to test it!
