6V Receiver pack issue (HELP)
I have a "new" Racers Edge Turbo 35 1600mAh NiMH Hump Receiver Pack. I gave it a full charge before using it yesterday. (over night charge) It only lasted me about 30min of driving time. (3 1/2 tanks) ????? what is up with that? It did the exact same thing today after a full charge. This is my first 6v pack. I had been using the AA pack that came with my radio and the AA's lasted much much longer than this pack did. Do I have a faulty pack? What experiences have you guys and gals had with these receiver packs when it comes to run times?
I metered it when it first started acting up and it was still reading 5v. The only problem was that I had almost no steering and the throttle was weak. (typical dead battery response) I am using a Spektrum DX3R. any suggestions are appreciated, I am trying to get race ready by this weekend. |
If you're using a plug in wall type charger, you may be seeing the best it can do for a non-peak type charge. The rx pac may beed some cycling to really come into its own due to the time its been sitting until you bought it. Mine have needed a few cycles to improve and then stabilize as far as performance.
Peak charging delivers the optimum charge the batt can accept and its a diff type charge than just leaving it plugged in overnite. If thats all you have access to, plug it in and leave it much longer and see how much improvement that shows, just check it once in a while to make sure its not getting too hot. Do youknow what charge rate your wall charger has? If its low (only a few hundred milliamps) this may be just too little charge time. |
