Default Will a 20c lipo be enough for a xxx-s with brushless? Will it overheat at all?

I just ordered a 7.4v SPC battery rated at 20c. Will a 20c battery discharge fast enough without overheating with a brushless set up? I will be using my vxl 3500 motor some of the time and for races I will purchase a brushed motor.

Here is the battery I just ordered:

Thanks!

where are you racing this??? Or are you just having fun???

I think any lipo in that car will be enough. I ran a Orion that was 20c 4800mah. Plenty of pwer I turned down my epa plenty and had a 3.5t in it. Super fast. You will have fun.

I know it will have plenty of power but an employee at my LHS warned me that the lower c ratings like this may overheat because a small amout of energy being blocked. I own a 35c 3s lipo and have had no trouble so far.
And when I do race it will be at Fastlane Raceway in Missouri. I have never entered a race before mainly because it is about 40min away and is kinda a hassle.

so what esc are you powering??? also when you want to talk about the power of the battery do this.

MAH Rating X C Rating Divided by 1000 ='s Discharge Rate

That will tell you how much power the Motor is Discharging in Amps.

So if you have a 4800 20c lipo it does 96amps.

This is the Punch or the Burst of the battery. Basically the power to me.

The reason lipos get hot is the setup. When a setup (motor/esc) demands more amps than the lipo is rated for, the lipo will get hot. You want slightly mor lipo than you need so the lipo stays cool.

Hard to tell what a setup will draw short of using an onboard data recorder. Talk to others with similar setup ans see what they are running and what lipo temps they're seeing.
