Yeah, with 6.6, you could store it right after LVC on your speedo -- I think they cut off around 3.25 or so a cell. Doesn't sound good to me either.

so if i use the batteries once a week do i need to put them in storrage (80%)for the week

Depends on how far you drained them. Lipos have self discharge, it's just very very slow. The purpose of the storage charge is to prevent the battery from going below 3 volts per cell and being damaged. If your battery hits the LVC on your last run, you probably want to put some in there just to be sure, but a full storage charge isn't needed. leaving too much charge increases the lipo's self discharge rate, which is why the recommended storage charge is around 3.8 per cell.

When I race, I just leave the pack where it was after the main till next week unless I break or don't get to run, in which case I discharge it to at least the storage charge level to ward off high self discharge rates over time.

I store my lipo's fully charged, and i have let them sit for 4-5 months with no issues at all. Some of my packs are used in off-road, but most are used in dirt oval, and the oval drains voltage really fast. I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not. And almost all my packs are SMC.

I store mine the same way but out of all the brands I have the SMC packs are the only ones that I seen that the manufacture says not to store with a full charge. Not sure why their cells are different but I'm sure they tested this stuff out and come up with this for a reason.

Like FossiRC though I stored my packs fully charged and some where SMC and so far no problems. I do keep my packs in a lipo sack. Maybe I will store them with about 10 to 20% less charge when I put them away. I will have to do more reading from different companies and see what they suggest.

Most of my new packs come roughly charged to 7.9volts to 8.2volts when I get them new. Not sure if they charged them to this voltage or they lost some voltage while sitting until they are sold.

Always been lead to believe lipos are given a partial charge by the manufacturer so they can verify construction and not be sending dead, damaged or otherwise defective cells out the door.
