Default Heatsink came off

Hi, my LRP TC's heatsink came off from the ESC. Now I can see chips and white thermal paste on them. The ESC still works fine. Can I use CPU thermal paste and then put the heatsink back?

Do I need to remove old paste before applying arctic silver? They seem to be different materials.

I would on the HS - think you can put the HS in the freezer and it will make the old easier to remove. I would be very careful with the FETs. If it will come off without damaging anything, then yes, I'd remove as much of that as poss too. If it doesn't come off easy, I'd quit. I wouldn't risk damaging anything.

I'd use enough to fill the gaps up so you don't have air pockets when you put them back together.
