Default Hyperion EOS0615i Duo3/EOS0710 Net3 Chargers Firmware Update

Visit the Hyperion website to get the new 3.2 update for your charger.

Per the website...

v3.2
* Added Terminal Voltage Control Function (TVC). Allows you to set peak voltage to a few hundredths above or below 8.40 volts. See the warnings associated with this function.
* Changed Cooling Fan control such that the fan is stays on if case temp exceeds 45C, until falling below 40C.
* Increased Memory Slots per port to 20 (from 10, originally)

The first two features seem to work really well.

Cheers!

Bill

Nuno,

I only use my Duo 3 for lipo charging...Both 1S and 2S. With the new firmware, I can set the ending voltage pretty much anywhere I want it around the 8.40V standard for 2S packs. Previously, my Duo 3 only charged to something like 8.37-8.38V. And the charger display completely agrees with my Fluke multimeter voltage readings.

Basically, some racers charge at higher amps to heat the pack for more performance. I am now practicing the ROAR rule of no heating via this method or any other.

Thanks Bill - I haven't been keeping up with the latest from Hyperion and reading this I decided to check an see if I was current with my 0610i Net chargers. Nope, there was one out there I wasn't aware of. Nice one too - this update gives me 20 memories (like the others) which always comes in handy.

Anyone one with 0610iNet, the latest firmware is v2.3.

More importantly, the new firmware updates for the various Hyperion chargers also run the cooling fans more when needed on warmer days.

A pretty significant thing for those in warmer climates...like Texas...

Hey all, I just ordered one of these chargers. I am new to lipo batteries and have ordered half a dozen packs from hobbyking, 4S and 2S zippy batteries. Will I have everything I need to balance charge these batteries?

thanks

oh yeah, You don't get more punch charging lipo at more amps, like nimh and nicd...All you do is make their life shorter.

No, you'll need a pr of JST-XH adapters to connect the balance wires. Zippy uses a JST-XH balance connection. The charger comes with a Hyperion connection.

You'll need two.

Kewl! I set mine to 8.42V and it does exactly that.

Whereas, I was looking for 8.40V in the past; but typically got about 8.31-8.32V.

My Hyperion rocks...Now!

I know this is a firmware update thread, I was looking at picking up a used 610i to replace my ice charger. Is it worth it?
