coming back to RC
I am coming back to rc and about to place my order.
I am getting a 8ight-e 2.0 and a sc10 kit. I will be running 17.5 class with the sc10 and will just run the esc/motor combo that comes with the 8ight for starters. I was looking at the M11X radio but was curious if a radio this extreme is really needed. What are the main advantages that this 400+ dollar radio does that a 200-250 dollar wont do? |
They say this one is just a little bit faster but i am still waiting to see the person that can tell a difference in milliseconds with their eyes.

I completley agree with you. Its not worth the price to me either. To be honest I dislike the m11 all together its very heavy

One guy drives a Corrola, while another drives a BMW. Both do the same thing, they get you from point A to B. Of course the BMW has more features that the regular guy can't justify.
Same thing with radios. If you can afford it, why not? ;) |
You can do just fine with a less expensive radio, just need epa (end point adj - sets servo travel) and maybe subtrim capability beyong th estd stuff like reversing channels and basic trim. The rest of the high end features get less and less practical. Unless you need something like F/R brake mixing, but that is getting pretty rc specific (1/5th scale).

its not just the cost, still i cannot find the answer to what are the differences from the m11 and m11x... this is what i know.. faster, lighter, custom menu... anything else?

It's completely not necessary for your apps but I REALLY like the 4pk from Futaba. Got to handle one from a local racer and it's just an awesome feeling radio in every way. The features it has are more then what the average person would ever dream of using and it's $450 price tag is pretty ridiculous. But it's the Bugatti of radios and one that will never be out of date.

I myself am contemplating on getting one. It's got 4 channels, perfect for setting up my crawler with 4WS and dig. Only problem is, the local Futaba distributor here in Manila does not offer a warranty  I got to hold an M11X at the LHS and it felt really comfortable as well. Only thing I don't like is that the 4th channel can only be used for brake mixing. But it definitely looks like a good radio. Right now I'm still undecided which of the two to get. For the price of the 4PK I can get the M11X and an extra Rx. But I really want the 4th channel! To the O.P., you can order the M11 from www.rcmodel.com.hk Both their M11X and M11 2.4 are priced at $325 ;) |

Only the Japan version has the lower power rating. US and ROW have the same specs. Better to email them to be sure

anyone ordered from rcmodel.com.hk before? How was the experience? Fast shipping.. get what you paid for?

A bit of a sidetrack, but the 4pk seems very very similar in operation to the 3pk, and that is an old system. With exception to the spec 2.4 it now has. So how can the 4pk be the ultimate system right now? Surely the M11x is the most up to date consumer system right now?
