9 volt instead of 6?
hi! can i run my reciever and 2 servos off of a 9 volt battery instead of 4 AA's? y radio box is cramped up as is and it would be easier changing one instead of 4.

nope! servos can only handle about 6v, but some can handle 7.4. Get a 5 cell rechargable hump pack!!!!!

A 5-cell hump is the same size or smaller than 4AA's :weird: and they last longer.
NO a 9v batt won't work, voltage is too high and capacity it too low. |

damn it. i hate hump packs. i hate recharging batteries. i'd rather change batteries every 10 minuets and bring alot of batteries then be limited to one hump pack.

get 2 rechargeble packs and switch them out. |
i run a gallon or 2 at a time. so what happens when they both die? my days suppossed to be over? id rather switch out AAs.
thanks all. |
A gallon or two:eek: for god sakes man give the poor thing a rest once in a while.

Wally World always seemed to have AAs on special when I was sill running them, I'd but them by the dozen and use them the same way. Soon as had any idea that servo response was slipping, it was time for 4 new ones. Noticed the strg slowing down and knew it was time. I've done that a few times, go out with a fresh gal and run til its gone.
If you run lots and lots, hump pac will be cheaper. Get a charger that will run off car batt and soon as 1st pac needs charging, swap to teh other and toss the disch one on the charger, should let you run continuously with 2 good pacs. I use 9vs in my shooting chronograph and I don't think they would handle the amp draw anyway. |
