AM Transmitter Issue.
I recently purchased a new nitro rc truck off a buddy and I am working it in.
Having a little trouble setting up my controller to work with the truck. Its an AM transmitter, numbers matching on the transmitter in the controller and truck, can someone tell me what im doing wrong? Also on my controller, there are several adjustable knobs that say st EPA th EPA bunch of other ones too, i will EDIT in the morning and add them. any advice to help me with these problems would be appreciated! |
We really need alot more info to be able to help you. Like do you have any control, such as steering? Is nothing at all working? What kind of receiver battery are you using? Thats just a start, Im sure there are other questions some of us may need to know to get an idea of whats going on.
EPA is End Point Adjustment--its an adjustment to set how far the servo travels before stopping. Its a good idea to set your throttle EPA to where once the throttle is fully opened that the servo stops, so it does not try to over-extend and damage the servo. Also once the brake is engaged fully to stop travel for the same reason. For steering, most cars can use the maximum setting, but it never hurts to check and see. |
true, well its an am transmitter, i cant seem to get the controller to even work with the car, even tho im pretty sure ive got the right transmitter in the both of them.
i just need someone to explain the process of hooking the two up so they work together. |
The set of ‘crystals’ that go into the transmitter and receiver, do you have them in correctly? Tx in radio/controller, Rx in the receiver/car.
What numbers are they? Any labels on the radio? As far as I know 75MHz ones are interchangeable, I seem to remember that not all 27MHz sets are by brand. Need to match the radio, 75 crystals don’t work in a 27 radio for example. They occasionally go bad or get damaged, see if you can borrow a set to try. Or buy a set, they aren’t very expensive. Good batteries in the radio and car right? |
yea everything is new, thats what i dont understand
there 27.145 mhz in the car and in the controller pretty sure i have them in right, i tried a few different ways but nothing has yet to work. |
What is your power source in the car?
|
theres 4 AA batteries.
|
Are they new batteries? This is the first place to start, make sure you have good power to both the transmitter and the receiver.
|
yes, like i said everything is new in the car.
im just goingto have to wait a few days then take it to the rc shop i guess. thanks for the help anyways . |
Did you check the orientation of the plug of your servos that it was connected in the correct way (as per receivers' manual)?
... I had this problem in my old. sanwa receiver and servos which had different orientation of the polarities. Other than that it could be a defective controller set. |
