receiver antenna replacement
anyone knows which one i should get? and where can i get it?
btw its, SR3001 DSM 3-Channel Pro Series Receiver. thanks in advance |
|
not yet, planning to get it locally if i can get the alternative replacements near by :)
anyways, thanks for the info ;) |
Is that the coaxial type that comes with the 3R? If it is I would guess that Horizon is going to give you the big "send it in so we can make some more money because we don't want you to do it yourself". I don't know if they still have this policy but they wouldn't let you fix the antena on the radios yourself, they wanted you to send it in:mad:.

i believe he is talking about the fine little wire coming out the top of the reciever. Not the controller. Mines broken on my sr300, i emailed spektrum from the link above earlier this morning... will let you know what happens

I know he's talking about the receiver antena. My point was that they wouldn't sell you a replacement antena for their radios, which is a simple fix. If they won't do that they're not going to tell you to go ahead and solder a new antena on a receiver board.

I think 5 inches should be plenty but like I said I don't know the specs on that receiver so......I seen guys run big 1/8 scale tracks with the antena coiled like a snake and glued to the top of the receiver (sr3000) and not have a problem.
|
tried on track with a buggy, no range problem for a mid size track :) what a relief
thats how i used to install this antenna with just few inches sticking out of my shell. flipped over and the antenna rubber tip cant hold that amount of friction. i learn my lesson here, extend it fully or shorten it below the shell  |
My antenna is missing out of my sr3000. where is it attached? Does it solder to J2 on the top board, directly under the exit hole? any pics of your install? My rx works, just range is only 30' or so.
Help!!! |

I did open it up, but thats why i asked if it was J2 on the board. Since that is directly under the exit hole on top of the case. But i did not see any solder, broken or otherwise on the board...
