Acoms Technisport 2.4 Problem
 

Hi , My brother have some trouble with he acoms receiver, before he was runing a silver can tamiya motor and got no trouble but he switch to a Reedy Associated Challenger 19T Spec motor and now he receive turn off every time he snap the throttle. if he push the throttle slowly then the receiver stay on.

What can cause this Except the fact that this acoms kit is really cheap made?

Is there a way to fix this? I think I read about adding a capacitor in the BAT plug of the receiver but cant remember where I read this.

and if adding a capacitor is the solution .. what kind and spec?

Did he change gearing? Generally when you switch to a lower turn motor you need to go down a few teeth on the pinion. Battery type and condition, using the white Tamiya style connectors can contribute too.

He use Dean Connector with a 6 cell nimh duratrax DTX4200 on a challenger 19t spec with a ratio of 6.5 ( like the motor manual suggest), with a duratrax intelispeed 16t mod and no connection between motor and ESC.

The ESC/Motor really steal all the juice when you snap the throttle this must be the problem. So maybe the receiver is too cheap , or the esc cut the juice on the receiver (I use the same ESC with a 19t team checkpoint without trouble ( except the brake/reverse mosfet burn but that another story).

I will buy this capacitor probably in a electronic shop so when I ask what kind of capacitor I want to know the UF of it and the Voltage ... not really where to get it.

On the picture of the capacitor on the link you can see 4700uF and 10v is that what I have to find or there better uf / voltage choice?

Not completely sure about the cap, but should be a good starting point I guess.
6.5 ratio, is this in an on road car?
