Default Dx2.0 good for SR3500 and novice use?

I haven't run one of these type of systems in a long time so I don't know if the SR3500s are compatible, anyone confirm, assuming they are.

Also, how good is this radio for a novice? I use a NOmadio React, but want something that if my daughters want to drive a vehicle I can just bind it and let them have at it with the radio. Any short commings for this radio?

Yes, I believe they are compatible. Check the chart at the bottom of this page:

Not as responsive of some of the big buck stuff, but I would think it would be fine for what you are after.
