Default Spektrum 2.4G receiver antenna length

I got an used Spektrum 2.4G receiver, and the antenna's length is only 3.5 inches. Actually, I don't even have to make the anntena hole on the body.... hehe~

Is that too short? Any influence on the signal?

Spectrum said the factory antenna is 8.5 inches but that 3.5 inches is OK with a small amount of range lost.

That is the Telemetry one right? Same one I'm using. Yes 3.5 inches or so.

I run a Slash and just drilled a small hole in the receiver box so I could route the antenna up through the stock antenna mount. then I just cut off a short piece of antenna tubing and capped it.

Thanks everyone... so the SR3001rx work the same way? It came with a longer antenna wire than the 3300T, should I cut it to 3.5inches?

There is a difference between should and can. You can cut it, but it will result in a small loss of range. While I err on the side of caution, I never cut my antennas. If I want the short antenna (which I do... very convenient) I buy the receivers that come from the factory with short antennas. That is the SR3500 and the SR300 (for DSM1) and the SR3520 (DSM2)
