FASST receivers?

I have a futaba 3PKs, and I was wondering what recievers will work with the FASST Transmitter? I know about the R603FF & R603FS. But I was curious is there is a cheaper alternative, for a basher, or seldomly used RC. For instance I have read that the newest and cheapest Tower 2.4ghz reciever will work with any DSM transmitter.. Is there anything else out there that will work?

$75 is the cheapest I have found a R603FF. I am on a tight budget. I don't want to spend that amount of money on something that is not going to get used very often. Although, I would just as soon use my 3pk Transmitter..

I've read just the opposite - Tower 2.4 by Tactic will not work with anything except their rxs. Also, I've read this is the way it is with the rest, they work only with their own rxs due to the differing tech each company employs and safeguards thru patents.

See the replys at the end of this thread - I believe JS works for Futaba -

Thanks Duster. I must have misread something then.. Dang at this rate I will never get everything switched to 2.4ghz..

I love my 3PK, but the price of receivers has me thinking of selling it and picking up a DX3S/R.. Them Spekky receivers can be had pretty cheap if you look long enough..

Now you know whay I have stayed mainly FM with my 3PK. I bought a FASST module and 2 rxs, but the rest of my "fleet" has stayed FM.

And it will probably be the reason I dump the 3PKs and pick up a DX3R.. DSM2 = more res, is rock solid, has telem, and is cheaper all the way around.. I have a race next weekend. After that My 3PK with aluminum hard case, 2 lipos batteries, and the FASST module & 1 receiver will be up forsale.. Then I'll pick up the DX3R and about 3 Rx with it, and not be out much if any extra cash..

BTW I misspoke.. It is the Losi recievers that will interchange with no problems.. Confirmed this today.. Some of those Losi 2.4ghz recievers are under $40... Worth the change on a vehcle that gets used 3 times a year maximum.. The reasoning is because they are all hobbico, and they have purposely made them compatible.

Well, it's been a fairly long time since I've posted, but here goes. This time, I'm asking the questions!

I use stick radios, and I generally use my 3VCS or 3VC transmitters. I have 2.4 FASST modules for both, and what I'm querying is this:

Why doesn't my 2.4 system seem to work with the SFL-10MG servo that came with my Baja 5B SS? I'm running in PPM mode, but only my Hitec 5925 (digital) seems to work. When my SFL - 10 servo is connected, it doesn't matter which channel I connect it to, the servo moves rhythmically from endpoint to endpoint, with the R603FS receiver flashing Red/Green.

When the SFL is connected to a 40FM receiver, it works fine.

I've tried both the 3VC and 3VCS with 2 separate PK-FSM2.4G modules. All besides the Tx's are brand spanking new and unused. The problem occurs each time.

This seems to be a specific problem to do with the FASST system and the SFL - 10MG servo. I was under the impression that the system should work fine with analogue servos provided that you run in PPM mode. But I've had no luck so far.

I'm hoping that I don't have to revert to 40FM, as I only have 1 PCM receiver left. And I don't want to buy another digital servo - this time a 1/4 scale size jobbie.

Any ideas guys?

Regards

Horatio
