"No Telemetry Connection" - DX3S

What are your experiences with keeping a telemetry connection on these units?

I have the DX3S with SR3300T in a new 8 2.0 RTR. Just got off the phone with Horizon and they say that the connection dropping out is normal. I can understand it dropping out, but my is out more than it is in. Will see what happens at the track the next time, when I'm in the wide open area. Will also see what happens when I rebind while I'm at the track (although I don't think rebinding is the issue since my servos work just fine.) I searched for some threads about this, but didn't really see anything. So If I missed it, provide me the links.

Anyone else just take off some or all of the telemetry items? It would be nice to have the temp consistently transmitting throughout the longer mains. And the RX battery is great to have. Not worries about RPM's/MPH.

b1alan, sorry I didn't reply earlier, I did see your PM too. Just been busy. Anyways in regards to your radio we found in some testing that if you were having telemetry signal issues if you got up higher (like on a driver's stand) they cleared up. Make sure you have your antenna exiting the body as high as possible too.

No Prob Gary. I knew you'd reply sometime. Our track does have a driver's stand and high one at that, so I'll see what happens next weekend. As far as the antenna goes, that receiver for the 8 2.0 rtr didn't have much to begin with so I let it go as high as possible straight up out of the body, with the supplied antenna tube trimmed to length.

i have the same problem as well, i haven't taken it to the track yet but when i run it on my street i get about 30-45 yards away before it cuts out

There's not a lot of power from the rx transmitting to the tx unit, so range suffers.
