Icharger 208B

1 Attachment(s)
About this charger is reputable, worth to buy just for 2S LIPO?
In the case of discharging high performance LIPOs, could anybody know how many rate(A) could discharge 2S, as i know 106B could be until 2.2A?

Best regards

Excuse me, could somebody say something.
Perhaps teach me how could calculate, if is able, from the spec information, please?http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...lance/Charger#
Best regards

These chargers are pretty good.

http://www.nexusracing.com/product_i...oducts_id=2668

I like them a little better than the Thunder powers because they have a fan. the owners at nexus have them and i have used them a few times when i left my charger and they seem to work great.

They charge up to 10amps. and discharge up to 7 I believe.. Nexus has the spec on their web site and the shipping is cheaper than hobby city.

Wait, 106B could discharge until 7A with 6S, not in all condition, just reviewed by some commentators it works with 2.2A just with 2S.
I hope somebody tell me how many 208B could discharge with 2S, i guess could be around 5A, isn't it?
Just because at max. it works with 8S in 20A.

Out of the box it has 20A discharge capability but only at 30W, which means that you can discharge a 2S lipo at around 4A. The ichargers have the ability to hook up an external load bank to increase the discharge capability to 600W at 20A, although I've never done it. THen you could discharge just about anything at 20A.

Or are you asking about charge capability?

What is the external load bank, what means increase the discharge capability?
Excuse from a LIPO rookie which i am, in case i am thinking between 106B and 208B.
About charge issue, anyway my LIPOs 2S is just 4700, so i just need 4.7A to charge it is enough, but i want also have a charger which has high rate to discharge it faster for a "storage" when i don't use it, in case i have just 1 race per month or maybe longer.
Due the only batteries i have heard which never need discharge is KOKAM which i don't have.
The rumours said 106B could only use 2.2A for 2S, then just remain to know how about 208B to choosing between them.

Best regards

If the max power of 208B is 30W then just discharger 2S with 4A
How about in case of Hypeion EOS0720iNET3 with 80W discharge?

That hyperion can disharge a 2S at 10A. As for the icharger, the manual describes how to add an external load to it to discharge at a higher wattage. You add a power resistor in line with the battery. to discharge a 2S lipo at 20A, you would add a 0.37 ohm 148W resistor.

Well, looks like Hyperion charger is better, thanks!

bringing up the dead thread. but why would you need such high discharge for lipo?

anyways I got this 208b and my initial impression is :AMAZED:

charged TWO 4S 5000mah packs in parallel in ~1 hour. 9000mah put back

hahahahah...

FYI You need a beefy PSU for this unit.

Max voltage

Just bumping up for a small question.
Does anybody know how to change the max charge-end voltage on a 208B?
I have noticed that after charge (1S lipo) the voltage is reduced to 4,16V and not 4,20V.

Anybody?

You may need to calibrate the volt meter.

This charger is best !
but 206B had inport balance slot !
Discharger support small amps only , or outboard 20A discharge .
Charger is best no.1 can adj. 0.01-0.10 per cell ,
any time check battery IR ...
Hyperion can't detail do it at this moment & outboard balance slot !

wallot 02-02-2011 02:40 PM

internal balance ports are not that good as you are limited just to JST-XH balance tap. with chargers that have external balance board connector you can use board for whichever balancing taps you have (JST-XH, JST-EH, Hyperion/PQ, Flightpower)

however there is a way how to connect external boards to 206b - amainhobbies have an adapter harness that allows connection of standard 2S-6S boards

Hi All.

I have one of these for a while now, absolutely love it!. Problem I have now is with the new HV lipos, 4.35 per cell, the 206B can only max out at 4,3 I thin or less. Is there a firmaware upgrade that includes a HV lipo selection or something that increases the cut-off threshold?. Anyone else havecome accross this?.
