Blue Bird Servos?
 

I keep hearing about these blue bird servos. A guy at my track has one that looks like a futaba servo. He said that he goot it cheap online. Can someone show me where this is and how reliable these are. I saw one that had a heatsink on it like the high performance ones!!!

~$40 for one that puts out 180 oz/in of torque, cheap, but I would much rather invest in a nice Hitec servo that has easy to find parts and will likely last much longer.

Wouldn't mind putting one on throttle though.

When they 1st came out, they were breaking like crazy, every electronics forum had several posters searhing for parts or answers on why their Bluebird servo had broken. ServoCity used to carry them but I don't see them there anymore. Just read a review, they appear to have gotten better....gotten past some of their initial probs. Find here -

Hi rcman,I've a 616mg hs on steering of an x ray t2 008 in 10.5 class and 617mg hs on steering of a f103gt,never had a problem. Cheap,fast and durables! Don't forget to use metal gear! Bye

I ran three of these in my LST2. They lasted and were up to the riggors of racing.

I do think that they pull a little more current then other brands.. But no big deal.

The biggest problem with them is them burning out. I bought 10 a couple years ago and have 3 or 4 left. They were burning out like crazy. I finally discovered it was that the EPA needed to be adjusted PERFECT so it didn't put a strain on anything. I always just had it set to 100% and never had a problem before these. Just be VERY careful with them (probably not a problem anymore). I had one go out wide open on my Revo. :flaming:
