3 Wire ESC Setup Help!!!

I just got a used Novak GT7 ESC to replace my old Tekin 410S. I have never had a 3 wire speed control before. And I am not sure what is the most common method for wiring a 3 wire speed control for using Deans connectors for the battery and the motor. I have downloaded the GT7 manual but it only shows how to solder the wires directly to the battery and the motor. Do you just splice two wires onto the positive wire coming from the ESC and use one of the spliced wires for the motor connector and the other for the battery connector? I'm sure this method will work, however I just don't know if this is the method that is best for R/C vehicles. If this is the best method, what is the preferred splicing method?

Thanks for any possible help!

you run the red and bluue to your motor....the black to your batt. then splice a red into the red for your pos. batt terminal...good luck i wouldnt cut the red motor wire, just cut a 3/8 inch ring out of the wire shield and splice your new wire in there btw....dont forget to put your heat shrink on BEFORE you solder your spliced wire

Where you branch off your positive wire is up to you and your installation.

I have used the hard wire approach where I strip off some insulation from the positive which crosses the battery and reaches the motor so I only have the one wire and two solder points. I have also spliced in a wire near the ESC so I can use a Deans to the battery. I always solder the wires to the motor.

The simple way is to splice two (+) wires to the + pole of the ESC. Then run one to the battry soldering the Batt (-) and one (+) to the male Deans to the battery. Then solder the other (+) and the MOT (-) to the female Deans for the motor.
