Sorry suga. It was a typo on my part. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings.

[QUOTE=Joe Ford;5773411]Was this for a 1/18th Sidewinder or 1/10th Sidewinder? If 1/10th we do not state anywhere on the site that it works with 4 cell NiMH...only gives the "up to" ratings. Did you assume 4 cell operation was ok? Contact us prior? Trying to get a handle on the whole situation. Sorry it's taking time to get back to you. Been hectic at work lately.

Joe, still waiting for a fair resolution.........

Ive ran 4 cell for years and had issues like you said with LRP, Novak, Castle, Tekin.. with hot motors even the GTB 4 cell, had the best luck with just using two large caps and oddly taking my high amp draw servo out and using one with less draw helped as well.

I'm only using a mild 19t spec checkpoint motor and since I've swapped to the lrp esc everything works perfectly without any issue's at all. I guess my point is that a couple of tech guys had me do all sorts of unnecessary "rigging" for it to still not work. I guess I was taken advantage of buying an inferior product.

Before you bought the Sidewinder did you notice anyone else using it in 1/12th scale? Did you ask around and see if anyone else had tried one?If not it sounds like you didn't do enough homework.I don't rely 100% on manufacturer's websites,I always ask around at the track or on here if I have any question on a product before I buy it.As far as Castle products go,Iv'e never had a problem with anything from them.So it isn't really fair for you to drag Castle's name through the mud just because you didn't do your homework!!!!

You are 100% correct! I should have asked someone other than the people who make the sidewinder if it is any good.

Everybody at my local track told me it was junk and I guess they were right.

1/10th sidewinder, Doesn't state anywhere on your site that it doesn't work with 4 cell nimh nor did you or any of your tech's at any time say that it wouldn't work but only a surprised response from you guys that it didn't work, YES, I did contact you guys, better late than never, I bet it has been "hectic" if there is that many unsatisfied customer's like myself.

This is because it WILL work if you do the mods you were told to do. We do not state 4 cell operation, and you called AFTER the fact. You didn't call prior to purchase or we would have told you this, and the mod you'd have to do. Sorry man. If you send it in, I'll see what I can do about making this right in your eyes, but that's about all I can do. Because of this matter we are changing the website to show a minimum of 5 cell operation (yes, with 5 cells no mods are needed). Sorry for any frustration cobra. We really do try to do our best. Give us a chance to make it right before starting an eternal feud over something like this. Step up, send it in, and let us do what we can for you. PLEASE...and send it to my attn with all your contact info (email and phone #, best times to call if phone is you're preferred method and the time zone you live in so I don't call you at 7am or something.

EDIT: And PS, cobra, sorry for the delayed replies. I don't get a chance to come on the forums much anymore...working full time as a show lead, doing all tech emails, contributing to rccars.com, etc etc etc take up a lot of work...and I also need "down time". Hope you understand.

I will absolutely give you guys one LAST chance to make it RIGHT.

It would definately be great for your team to update your website with accurate verbage and also a CC APPROVED schematic/instruction sheet for this needed modification so others won't continue to be mislead.

If I send this to your attention at 235 South Kansas Avenue, Olathe, Kansas 66061, USA, will it find you or should I send it somewhere else?

P.S. Either way, I'll let all know the outcome! Thanks for the reply!

That is the address to use.

1 squeaky wheel

Aside from the 4 cell issue, there is another issue. You bought a brushless speed controller that "should" run brushed motors. Further you bought a sensorless, brushless speed controller for use in a 1/12 chassis when light throttle is needed, so when you do go brushless, the combination won't work well because of the cogging. You then hooked a brushed motor to everything and now things don't work well.

In situations like this, before you change anything, or alter anything, call the company and talk to them. You shouldn't have to rig something to work. Get the right product in the first place.

Couple of suggestions:
1) buy the right product for the application (I am not suggesting that you spend $200 on a speed controller, just $100 on a new 4-cell gtb from novak, same thing you spent on the castle)
2) call the company, be nice and ask for a refund or a replacement
3) don't trash a company because of 1 bad experience.
4) the more you complain, bitch, and badmouth the company, the more the company will tell you to g.t.h.

Good luck.

Great response Joe, good work.
Like i've said before in my posts, I have some niggles with my Sidewinder, but then I bought one of the cheapest dual-use ESC's on the market and hoped it would do everything the higher cost twin could do. When it couldn't I got over it, put it to a practical use, and all is well.
Cobra, your response is piss-poor in my book. Joe made a great offer there, and you reluctantly accept it, with conditions and an idle threat? Man up and accept some responsibility for this. In case you haven't noticed, you have had VERY LITTLE support on either of your threads regarding this.
