JR XS3 Replacement Receiver

I recently bought a used radio from someone for a really good price(Hence the issues I'm having:(). It is a JR XS3 and it came with a RS300 Reciever. The reciever has issues that I have discovered to be a crystal looking devce that is soldered to the circuit board(Its bent over and taped to the cicuit board). I didn't get to far into it, so I need to see if its just a loose connection. When I touch it the receiver starts working again(Until I hit the race track boards then it stops working).

My question is, what would be the cheapest reciever I could buy that would work with this radio. I'm not looking to spend a bunch of money or care if it has adjustable frequencies. I really don't want to spend $70US for a rx as this is just a get me by radio until I step into something like 2.4GHz.

One fix would be to not hit the boards, but thats just not my style.

You have 3 receiver options. Jr rs300, JR rs310, and the novak xxtra. I have seen all 3 of them under $30 shipped used and all retail for double that. You just have to be quick because they are snatched up quick. I am looking for a novak xxtra myself. Other than that, I think the best I have seen is $50 shipped buy it nows on ebay.

Good luck finding one.

JR is also compatible with Airtronics, so you can use any Airtronics 75Mhz FM receiver as well.

Thanks for the input so far. I'm a little put off used electronics now. So I'll look into the Airtronics prices.
