Pausing (Breaking?) from reverse to forward

Hello,

I am new to R/C and purchased my first truck. It's a stock Losi Mini-DT 1/18 scale.

I don't know if it's a built in feature or not but my truck pauses when going from reverse to forward or vice versa. I'm assuming that this is a breaking mechanism controlled by the ESC. I was wondering if this is something that can be "tweaked" out so that I can pop wheelies and such or if I'm stuck having a short pause between directions. Also, if I were able to "tweak" it, would it eventually cause damage to my transmission or motor?

If this is something that can only be fixed by upgrading parts, which parts should I upgrade and what do you recommend I get?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give a newby.

There's a delay designed into the ESC to prevent what you're looking to do. This was done to extend the life of the drivetrain and gears. If you'd want to bypass this you'd need a different ESC.
