Can I use any spectrum rx w/ my air.M8 module? or does it have to be m8 capatible rx only?

The air modules are only compatible with air receivers and the surface receivers are only compatible with Spektrum Surface equipment.

sorry for the confusion... I meant airtronics m8

Any DSM1 Spektrum receiver (SR3500, SR3001, SR3000) will work with the M8 Spektrum module. DSM2 receivers (SR3100, SR3520, SR300, etc) will not.

Just to correct something, the SR300 is NOT DSM2.

You have to have the Spektrum TX module for the m8 to use a Spektrum receiver. A regular m8 TX module will not work with any of the Spektrum receivers

:tire:Thanks guys. I just have to make sure its a DSM1 tx I have and make sure to get an sr3000 rx. It's so hard to get spektrum tech support to answer their phone calls.

Pit-racer 04-08-2009 09:22 PM

What is the smallest one I can use w/ my DSM1 tx module? :weird:

To clarify a bit, the only Spektrum modules you can purchase for your airtronics radio is a DSM1 module. The smallest receiver available that will work for you is the 3500 micro receiver.

Oh yeah and the M8, and M11 Spektrum Modules are one and the same... so if you ever decide to ditch the M8 in favor of the M11, you don't need to get a new Module.

Is this rx strong enough for a 1/10 touring car w/BL set-up?

I run one in a NASTRUCK (touring car with NASTRUCK body) with no problems. I used a Futaba 3PJS radio with Spektrum module and Spektrum receiver worked great.

I use one of the mini receivers in my BRP car also with the same radio setup and it works without any issues.

Pit-racer 04-10-2009 07:45 AM

Thanks for the quick response.

Scott Fisher 04-10-2009 11:15 AM

Until recently I only ran the SR3500 receiver in my 1/10th. The size of the receiver is not relevant to its strength.
