EX-10 Helios range problem
I just recived this radio, it is used, today and was disappointed on the first try. It has the spektrum module with the attena mod, it runs through the radio. On my first attempt with my reciver all seemed good until I drove 15 feet away, my car lost signal and experienced a run away, lucky into the grass. I tried it with another reciver and the same thing happened...Any ideas on how to fix the range problems?

Brian You may want to take a look inside radio and module to make sure the antenna wire is intact and that it is still plug into the module board. |
alot of ppl tend to stretch the wire around the board and it might have clipped a bit.
Also i noticed alot of ppl that do this mod damage the pins that plug into the rear of the Module. I had to resolder a good 4 transmitter with this issue now that people had issues with. |
I took the radio apart and the wire was broken. I cant fix it however. The wire was broken off even with where it goes into the black antenna. Does anyone know if there is a placce that has a replacemnt antenna assebly that would work. I really just need the wire and not the whole module.
thanks Brian |

thanks Brian You cantact spektrum I believe spektrum does offer replacement parts. If you look at the antenna only the very top (1/2 inch or so) is the antenna; the rest of it is just a hollow tube you maybe able to cut around the base of the antenna which would expose a little bit of the wire. Now you can attempt to re-attach the part that was cut. It may work; but you have nothing to loose at this point. |
