What Amps to charge at???

I just got this 6 cell 1100mAh pack but i'm not sure what i should charge it at. On the individual cells it has 2/3A, 1100mAh, 1.2V with a standard charge rate of 14-15hrs @ 110mA.

The charger i will be using has two outputs: 1-4 cells 3A/1.5A
4-8 CELLS 1.5/1A

I know i have to use the 4-8 cell option but not sure at what amperage. Any help would be great.

Either one , 1 is better/safer and 1.5 is quicker/powerfuller

Sweet, thanks. What would happen if i charged it at 3A?

PLEASE do not charge a 2/3A cell at 3 amps. For a 1100Mah 2/3A battery I would think that 1amp would be good.... 1.5amps would be the max I would charge it at... and your battery is going to get HOT at 1.5amps so keep an eye on it.

2/3a cells are handled diff unless they are a racing pac. For an rx pac, fast charge at 1.0amps or slow charge at 0.5amps. You'll get better life that way.

Race pacs are charged at higher rates.

good point Duster. I would assume that you are using this pack for a electric car and not a reciver pack for your Nitro cars being as it's a 6 cell right?

Like Duster said if it's a RX pack then I would charger it at a lower rate. I charge mine at about .2-.3amps when I have time and about .5-.6amps when I NEED it right now.

With my IB 1500MAH 2/3A packs that I have for my X-Ray m18 I chrage them at 1-1.5amps like I said in my last post. If your charging your batteries at too high of a rate, they will let you know! They are going to get REALLY HOT! It's ok for Nimh's to get warm-really warm when charging/discharging, so don't freak out if they are. But if your like "man that's pretty hot" stop the charge, let them cool for about 2 hours and then charge at a lower rate.

I've charged my 1100mah packs for my mini-latemodel at 2.0-2.5 amps and peak them at 3 amps with no problems and they don't get hot but they do get warm. Can't tell you what temp. I mean by warm because after almost 20 years "I just know". ;) 1.5 amps is probly safer and will give longer life to the pack.

If it is a receiver pack in a Nitro, charge it as low as you can when you're at home. At the track, charge it at 0.5 amps. You don't need power out of these batteries, you want life between charges.

When I was using NiMh receiver packs I would take them home and charge them at 0.1 amps. Then I would discharge them at the same. That get's a nice deep cycle into them. The I try to only charge at 0.5 amps from then on in. I would bump it to 1 amp if I needed the pack charged sooner though.

My 18th scale race pacs - 6 cell gp1100s and then last IB1400s before lipo - the matcher said 5 cycles at 1amp, then try 2amp and see how warm they got. If not too hot, try 2.5a and then 3a. Their advice was never charge at more than 3.5a.

Scottmisfits nailed it - we want a long lasting, level power delivery out of a rx pac, we don't need it to dump like we need a race pac where you charge at high rates. I always slow charged mine whern I had the time and got pretty good life out of them that way.
