ESC wire got chewed up by my gears...
 

hi guys,

i was so stupid to run my e-maxx without the gear cover, when the esc came loose, the wire got into the gears:cry:

how should i fix this? I SUCK AT SOLDERING!!! don't want to take the connector of. its dean. i hate soldering those...

p.s. i think it looks worth than it is. its actually a clean cut. i can easily push the cut together and it looks smooth...

put a small amount of electrical tape just enuff to cover it up... then shrink tube it.... red will look good:lol: or cut it and re soder it

ok...you guys are not reading my question. i suck at soldering and don't want to take the connector off! is there another way to fix this? thanks

What they are saying is wrap the cut in Elec tape and then get a large piece of Shrink tube and slide it over the 6.5mm connector "thats plugged into the ESC", and shrink it over where you taped it.

Personally I would replace the wire :sneaky: These things cost to much to play around with frayed wires :nod:

in that case i take it back. they are reading the question correctly but i am not reading the answer correct:blush: however, since i suck at soldering, how do i replace the wire?

Electrical tape O.o
It just ate the rubber outside.
Didn't even sewer half the cables yet.

You replace the wire by soldering LOL.
Better start learning how to Solder and fix things =D b/c more will break =D

maybe i need to also learn some internet lingo, LOL.
i don't mind soldering in general. but you know how it is with the deans connectors: one day you think you got it all down, the next day you are throwing all your deans away because they drive you insane:mad:
since it is a pretty expensive piece of equipment, i am not gonna mess with the esc!!! never ever. i can practice on something else...

A lot of Soldering is using the right equipment. Using a POS iron from walmart will cause you to do shotty work. I use a Weller Iron & station, and soldering is actually fun for me :) if ya lived close by i would fix it for ya:D

In any case I would never solder on the ESC b/c that would void the warranty. You do know those 6.5mm bullets disconnect from the ESC right? Replacing that wire means you will have to resolder the end on the deans and the 6.5mm bullet on the ESC end.

i have different soldering irons. i think one is around 60 watt and the other one is a soldering gun with 150 watt...
i would never start messing with the esc, not if its so new. i know those 6.5mm connectors. the wires from the esc to the motor, are bullet connectors. the ones going to the battery are not. they are soldered directly to the esc...

Oops ok I get what yoru saying now. That must be a older one? I have a V2 and a V3 and both have the bullet on the + - . In this case i would cut the wire at the split and solder in a new piece of wire.

i have the v3 too and it doesn't have the bullet connectors on the +/-...maybe i have an older version and don't know it...let me check...

I have never seen a Mamba Monster with out Bullets :weird: Thats why i assumed it had em :lol:I should have looked at the picture closer the first time :lol:

i checked, i have the v3. the wires going to the battery are not bullet connectors. i also checked the wire again and after squeezing it for a while, it almost looks normal. i think i am gonna put electrical wire around it and then put shrink wrap around both wires...so they stay together.

Send it back to Castle Creations. They will replace the wire for you. It will cost you time and money but that is the best solution if you don't want to tape it and don't like soldering.
