Airtronics wiring
 

Hey guys, I bought an Airtronics 94758Z from a guy today. I haven't received it yet, but I have learned that Airtronics sometimes wires their plugs a little differently than most manufacturers.

So, what I'm wondering is if anyone has any specific info about this type of servo, and whether or not they wired the plug on this one differently.

I found a web page that showed their wiring as RED=positive BLACK (middle wire) =negative and OTHER BLACK = signal

From what I can see in the picture of the item I bought the wires are BLACK RED and BLUE.

Is anyone able to fill me in on this? I don't want to fry this thing the first time I hook it up.

Not sure where that info came from, but every airtronics servo I have, uses black, red and blue wires. I wouldn't worry too much about frying it. Unless you're running too high a supply voltage, momentarily plugging the servo in backward usually won't hurt it.

I believe it’s an age thing. Back in the day everybody had their own plug with the wires in various orders. Eventually everybody standardized on what is essentially a Futaba J plug (without the little side tab for non Futaba). If it has a blue wire, and it plugs in without much difficulty, I believe you should be good to go.

Just make sure the order matches what you know already works on your receiver, black (-), red (+), and other (signal, usually blue or white).

Unless you have JR/Spektrum, they use their own colors still, brown (-), red (+), yellow (signal).

I think you guys are probably right. I've only been playing with RC for about a year now, so I missed a lot of the older weirdness with proprietary wire layouts, but I have run across it a few times.

Hopefully, they adopted the same thing as everyone else by the time they put this one together.
