? on Novak GTB

I thinking of putting the GTB/SS 10.5 in my new B4. I looked on Novak's site and didn't see if the GTB esc has Lipo cutoff protection. Can someone with the GTB answer weither the GTB as LiPo cutoff?

Yes it does have a lipo cut-off I'm running a gtb w/ a 3.5r motor

What happens when you connect a LIPO batt and forget to enable the lipo cutoff?

well it looses all of its power, wont take a charge, and may puff too i think. you dont want to do that.

you cant just say that. i think it has to have the amber light. you should rad your manual to see if it does.

Provided it's the latest version, it has a LiPo cut-off mode. If it is not enabled, you could ruin your battery.

also if your confused if the cut off is on or off when you turn your esc on the red light will blink 3 times and that shows its enabled

Phew.. Thanks for telling. I forgot to enable the lipo cutoff. Luckily the Lipo had an internal cutoff.

ONLY if you run the battery too low. Simply running the car with no lipo cutoff is fine as long as you have a mind to not run the car too long.

+1 on that

I run an Orion 3200 with my stock 2wd buggy with a Novak GTX... but I never run more than what I do in a race anyway.. even during practice....

I plan on running a timer as well. I just want to have something to fall back on, because I still forget to go in and reset the timer.

I'm sure what you meant was what happens if you run a lipo without a cutoff. Nothing happens when you "connect" a lipo without a cut-off but if your run the lipo down to far you may get poof, swell, smoke, fire, maybe not in that order though..lol:weird:

Again I will repeat, there is nothing wrong with running the battery with the cutoff turned off! It's only bad if you run the lipo with the cutoff turned off AND THEN drive the car until the battery gets below ~6.0v.

Most of the local racers at our track don't run the Lipo cutoff because momentary voltage drops from hard acceleration with powerful motors can cause the lipo cutoff to kick in even when there is plenty of juice left in the battery, leaving you dead and stranded in the middle of a race.
