Charging problems!!!!
I just bought the Team Orion Advantage charger and Team Orion 1600NiMh hump packs.Maybe i sound a little ignorant here but can someone please help lead me through the process of charging this thing?I dont know about volts and amps per hour.Every time i think i might have it set up it tells me "check battery".Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, how long do those packs take to charge/discharge?

almost forgot, 5 cells..dont know if that matters or not..Also,can i charge my 12v gel cell at the same time?

Does is have an auto to charge battery?? You can charge that at 0.5 amps and be safe... A lot of ppl will tell you to charge is at 1amp but slow charge is better..

not quite sure.it is the ORI30117 Team Orion Advantage DC Computerized Charging System (NiCD, NiMH and Li-Poly) .I really know nothing about these pro chargers as im quite old school..plug and go.I figured it was the same as a wall charger for $9.99 but a whole lot quicker.I dont know what peak sensitivity or MaV or discharge rate or anything means for that matter.Im just trying to get it to read the hump pack and throw a charge to it but it wont because im sure my sttings are all screwed up.

Not familar with that exact charger, but the setup should not be that difficult. It will want the type of batt, NiMh, then the number of cells, 5. Then it will want the capacity, 1600. These may come in diff order, but all are needed to setup a charge.
Peak sensitivity is usually in mv/cell and a good starting point is 5mv/c. Look at the charger for this one and see if it is asking for "mv/c" or just "mv" - some chargers do it one way and some do it the other. If its just "mv" try 25mv (5 x 5 = 25). The only thing left is charge rate - 1amp is generally considered the limit for a fast charge for a rx or hump pac. Rx pacs can be charged at the higher 1C rate (1600/1000 = 1.6amp, 1C rate), but they won't last long, cells will get too hot -0.5 maps is a good slow charge rate. I charge mine at 0.5amps if I have the time and 1amp if I need it charged as quickly as I can. After entering the charge rate, see if it will charge. You may have to do some reading - I looked at your charger one Tower and sure looks like a nice charger. Tower didn't have a link for the manual though. |
