Charger questions
Good evening all,
I am recently getting back into the r/c world. I have an older charger. Its a Black Widow Pro, peak charger. It has some numbers on the top of it. 4A,3A,2A,1A what do these numbers mean? I want to make sure I don't fry my batterys. The batterys are Power Maxx 24oo mah. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'd do the 1A setting, less stress on the batteries when you charge them slowly, It depends how much time you have to charge the batteries, the 1A will take ~2hrs40min to charge, 2A ~1hr20min and so on. I would never charge a pack greater than "1C" if you don't know what the "C" rating is for the pack. what I just learned "C" rating means if the pack is 2400mah, 1C would be 2.4A charge rate max, 2C would be max of 4.8A charge rate.

3.5 amps or even 4.0 amps would be a fine charge rate for a 2400mah pack.
IMO 1C charge rate is a rule for lipos. I charge my 4200mah nimh packs at up to 6 amps.
