Nitro on/off switch question
Hi there people, I just found this forum, and it looks very big! I've been around electric RC's for quite a while, but just picked up my first nitro car. It is used and didn't have any electronics, and I'm trying to figure out how to wire the switch. The switch has 3 wires, one goes to the receiver pack I'm sure, and another would go to the receiver, but where does the third wire go, and which of the 2 female plugs goes to the receiver? Probably a dumb question, but all I've had are electric cars before now.
Thanks for the help! |
It's for charging the Rx pack when the switch is in the OFF position.

Hmmmm..... You can charge the receiver pack with it wired into the car? Does it matter which of the 2 female plugs goes to the receiver?
On a seperate question, the guy that I got this car from told me that I should run a fail safe. I never used one on an electric vehicle, and I'm not sure where it hooks up. Thanks for the info! |

I haven,t use a fail safe in years I use 2.4ghz which needs no fail safe. But I believe the fail safe device is normally inserted in the throttle channel of your receiver and then the throttle servo is plugged into the fail safe. |
Yes you can charge the rx pack with it wired into the car.
That switch allows chargeing when the current is not flowing to the receiver. If the receiver is turned on that 3rd plug is dead. |
