LI PO's in starter Box

Ok i bought 2 new 4000 hard case Li Po betteries for my starter box.

I also got a low voltage warning light to let me know when they are getting low.

Has anyone done this and how good was it with the Li Po betteries??

Do you use a warning light or just keep them charged up all the time??

Thanks.

i have been using 2 4000mah 2s lipos in series on my Ofna Truggy box for a while. tons of power, no problem spinning any motor over. Just ordered an A-Main 2200mah 4s lipo for it, just to simplify things a little bit.

I'd use some kind of low voltage warning light - protect your investment. Its too easy to forget, overdischarge them, and poss damage/ruin them.

No worries about burning up those cheapish brushed motors inside the starter boxes? I've seen too many burn up on 12V PB or 2x6cell NiMHs. I think you can just connect cell-monitor that has buzz-alarm to the balancing output. Then it can even monitor each cell.

Gee I never have burnt out any starter box motors in 7 yrs of doing Nitro.

I once saw 2 motors in a box go up in smoke but the idiot was trying to turn over a locked up motor.

As long as the belts are tensioned up correctly and use a little common sense they should last a long time.

My box uses one 775 seize motor and is as good as as new.

Li Po's are only .4 of a volt higher . Thats nothing.

My mate has the same motor in a boat with 18 cells up it and is still fine after a yr.;)

I have a 4c lipo from Team Losi for my 1/10 associated box and as long as you keep it charged, you'll love how powerfull and light your starter is now.

Check on ebay! I picked up a set of low voltage alarms real cheap. I use 2 5000mah packs in my box. The alarm is pre set to go off it the voltage drops below 2.8 per cell.
