Default gerneral purpose rechargable sub c for racing?

i was browsing and looking at some of the newer generation of rechargable sub c 5000mah cells and you can get 8packs for like $25. sure their not matched but for practice packs wouldn't they be just as good as a non matced stick pack?

Be careful - this might well be a "you get what you pay for" type deal. If they are Tenergy cells, run the other way, I bought some of their 4200's last year as 7 cell pacs and they were a total waste of money and disappointment.

I'd want to know how old they were and how long they've been sitting too.

check ebay. there are a bunch of sub c rechargables in the 2000-5000mah

yeah i've heard some bad things about tenergy too. but there is a bunch of other brands too. seems like enerG are the best brand going right now. weren't sanyo and panasonic making rc specific batts?

The blue ones with a label are Tenergy - you couldn't pay me to buy any more of those! The packs I bought were from all-batteries store front too - they're the ones with the "you bought it, its your prob" attitude.

These sub cs appear to be intended for power tools and will not have the kind of performance you're looking for from a batt pac. Think your money is better put toward quality cells, ck Pro-Match racing for race packs and CBP for bash packs.

bought their 700mah 2/3AA cells to try for 1/18th stock touring class club was running last yr. couldnt get them to take more than 400mah (yes i built a equalizer for 2/3AAs), they got far warmer than KAN equivalents, garbage, returned the box of 50 i had.
