Help Please
 

Is it possible to have a reciever too close to the battery and speed control? I have a VXL Stampede that I just converted to carbon fiber chassis. I had to put the reciever tight next to the battery. The truck ran for a little bit and stopped. I traced it down to a bad reciever. When I put a new one in and mounted it in the same place I smelled something burning. There was smoke coming from the reciever. If i unmount it and hold it away from the truck its fine. In my 20+ years of RC I have never seen or heard of a problem like this. Any help is appreciated
