Adjusting timing
Does anyone know if the timing can be adjusted on a Novak 13.5? if so how. Thanks
If your using a speed control with programable timing, yes. Tekin RS units you can put the timing where you want it.
Are you talking about tuning the timing on the motor itself? if so then no not with Novak.
Thats strange because you can on the Novak 17.5. I have one and have advanced it as far as can be done mechanically.
dont you just unscrew the three screws on the back of the motor and twist the can?
I am not sure with the 17.5 but I know my 6.5, 5.5, 4.5 don't.
I think that the novak ss models may have a timing adjustment.

Loosen the three screws on the back where the sensor wire exits, turn the plastic ring counter-clockwise until it stops (about 25deg), tighten screws. It may be a bit difficult as the sensor wires can cause the ring to not move easily. Try pushing the sensor wires into the motor some to provide slack so the ring will turn. All the SS motors have this ability. I'm not sure about the older motors.
