do you know where i can get a new battery for my m8 online? does the m11 one fit the m8?

i've found a drycell holder at hobby people.net. anyone have experience with the website?

I bought some XTM parts via the website this summer - had them in 3 days, so their shipping was like Amain, very quick.

Having both I can assure you that the M11 battery will NOT fit the M8.

What I did when my M8 needed a new battery was I bought some 2500 mah doubleA rechargeable cells (I think mine are Eveready, got them at Circuit City) and just installed them in the existing case. Took a bit of soldering and a wee bit of squeezing to get it to work, but all in all it wasn't all that difficult.

Hello all,

I'm just now getting back into racing after about 10 years. I still have my Airtronics M8 radio which I absolutely love. The receivers in my cars should be fine to work in todays 1/10 offroad racing. I even have the Spektrum 2.4 ghz module for the transmitter. My problem is...the re-chargeable NiCd battery I have for it is pretty much dead. I can't even find the charger for it right now. Do you guys know of any alternatives to this? I really don't want to spend a bunch of money on a new radio when this one works just fine, I'm used to it, and I have like 5 receivers for it. I don't even have the original AA battery case for it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

P.S. Reading online, a M11 battery won't work/fit. The battery I have is a Airtronics Part # 95050 NiCd 9.6v 700mah.

Thanks for the input guys. I'm starting to feel more and more like just getting a new Sanwa/Airtronics MT-S for $200 that comes with a nice RX-482 receiver. Eliminates the need for an antenna wire sticking out of the car and I'll know everything is up to date. I'm just worried of sinking some money into making my M8 work and either screwing it up or in the near future wanting to invest in a new radio anyways so I might as well bite the bullet now. The MT-S seems to have everything I need without all the crazy bells & whistles of the $350-500 models. I don't need to run 20 cars or make 1000 little adjustments, just need something with good range that responds quick and feels good in my hands.

Either way, you can always get your old radio up and running, with some of the mods others have done. But, You will also enjoy a new radio, as it helps with newer servos etc, and also the response is awesome compared to your old radio. You can also search the BST Forum and get a screaming deal on the MTS, and with the cheaper sanwa receivers coming to market, it makes it a bit easier.
