I was looking at this one. Is this a pretty good one or could I get better for the price?

If they live up to their specs they look like good packs. However, it doesn't look like they're ROAR approved yet if that is a factor to you.

For that price I would go with these

but I would look at these (they are what I use).

I have a polyrc pack. granted it's one of the older packs but it performed admirably.

The PolyQuest lipo you linked are made by Enerland which is supposed to be one of the best cells in the business. There's been a discussion on RCM about the new 30C rated pacs however. Seems people are getting better performance from the 25C line of PQs than the 30C. I don't know what the prob is. but those trying the 30Cs haven't been happy with them compared with the 25Cs.

Others use the Enerland cells for their pacs and there are Kokam (also high quality cells) based lipo pacs as well. Any of these should deliver the best in performance and cell life.

I have found that with the most recent 30c rated lipos they give less performance than say a 20c or 25c with the same mAH

Ie the orion 3800 30c is not as good as interlect 3800 25c

The pack you picked in your first post is top-notch. I'd stick with it.

latemodel13 10-28-2008 05:26 AM

Better

If thet don't have to be roar approved I'd get the elite 35 c 5000 battery at cheapbatterypacks for 88 bucks. I have 2 of them and they are awsome in mod class racing. I run some high amp stuff and am very pleased with them.

jnslprd 10-28-2008 09:48 AM

go with orion.

we have raced and practiced with them for over a year and they still feel the same.

I love my SMC 5000mah 28C packs. They are true 28C, unlike plenty of the '30C' packs which in reality give only 20C!

Quick edit: They are also just as cheap as those packs you are looking at.

Truck_Buster 10-28-2008 12:50 PM

Wow many replies thanks guys. Has anyone used the lipo I'm looking at?

ABURTON 10-29-2008 06:03 AM

Check out this one, although I have not used yours most locals use this brand and have great things to say. It's a popular brand as well. Little bit cheaper and a 6000 at that.

Looks to be the same size as what you are looking at.
