MORE THAN LIKELY ITS TOAST!!!!!

Is it non repairable?

I seriously doubt you'll be able to repair it if it was actually smoking. I think it's interesting though that it got water in it because I thought pretty much all lrp's were supposed to be waterproof. The reciever probably isn't waterproof and that may have explained why the car was acting crazy however if the speed control itself actually smoked I think it's done.

Well I put it back in and turned it on but the only thing it would do was when I would give it gas or brake the lights on the esc would turn like they should but no power to the motor. What does that mean?

man, the smoke isnt a good sign.

CAn you take it back to where you bought it or send it in for repair?

If the lights are working now, but nothing is happeneing to the motor, you could try another motor to rule that out, but most likely its toasted.

I tried another motor but still nothing. I can go through the set up mod without a probleme but the motor will not work. So if I send it in will they do anything with it?

If you're sure it's the speed control I would at least try e-mailing LRP and telling them about it. I'm not positive but I think the Sphere is supposed to be waterproof so they may cover it???

a little wild story with a gtb.
this guy walked into the track and i let him use my tools and stuff to fix his truck and then we went into the off-road oval and we were below the drivers stand so you couldn't see down low on the inside corners. i asked is i could take a few laps with a 10.5 gtb combo in it and then went low and drove thru a puddle. we took the esc apart and tried to dry it out because we found a little water. then we used one of my batteries (one that wasnt used in the truck thru the puddle) and reset the esc and it worked fine.

one thing u could have tried was as soon as it got water in it, turn it off and put it in a blucket of Metholated Spirits (Metho) and then let it drain, take it apart and let the air dry it, because metho attracts water and when it drys so does the water, i did it with my Mobile Phone (going strong of 2 years now)

Is their any other way you could fix it because I had the same thing happen to me. But with a gtb.

Suspect the damage was done by applying voltage to it without it being totally dry - probably shorted/fried something - the smoke sounds like FETs went. Doubt you'll be able to make it work.

When you get electronics wet, have to immediately cut voltage and dry thoroughly before hooking it back up, otherwise water shorts components out damaging them. Anytime I've had to do it, take it apart and sit it in car in the sun with windows up and let it bake for at least 3days. This has worked for wet rxs and a wine soaked keyboard x2. If you can't stand the time delay, take it apart and use evaporating motor spray - that will displace the water. The electronic components can still have moisture in them - heat with hair dryer or sit in car. Then if it doesn't work, it time to replace it.

So if the fets are burnt then I cant send it in and get it fixed.

usually when you let the magic smoke out they are done. But as long as you dont let the magic smoke out most electronics keep working

No, doesn't mean can't be fixed, if its the fets, they'll just replace the power board. I'd send it in and at least see what they say about it, or what maybe better - call their CS and let them tell you what to do.
