|Venom Batteries?|

Hey, I need two 7.2v batteries for my stater box and 1 5c 6v flat receiver battery.

I'm thinking of buying 2 7.2v 1800mah venom stickpacks and 1 venom 1200mah flat pack. How is the quality and how well do they perform? They are quite reasonably priced.

Any other suggestions welcome.

Cheers

If you're not using your starter box a lot, the 1800s might be ok. I'm using a3000mah in mine for my crt.5. My y1/8th use a full size gel cell. I've never had the 3000 go out before I was ready to quit for the day.

I haven't bought venom's, but I suspect they're chinese cells like the rest of the generic stick pac, rx pac builders use to build their pacs from. They work pretty well and give decent service for the price. Batterys are really an area where you get what you pay for. Ballistic makes a 5c rx pac that will last 3x as long as aa generic, but it costs 2x as much.

I can't honestly say I would recommend buying Venom batteries unless price is a huge issue. Like said before if you are not using the starter box often the 1800's would probably be OK but if your starting two or three cars off of it all day you may want a little more capacity. I think for the reciever pack though I would definately go with something a little nicer. I have been running a promatch 5 cell in my 8th scale and have been very happy with it. I think they're like 12 bucks of their website.

For starter boxes and receiver packs they would be the way to go because of the relative low cost. However I wouldn't put them in a car. My friend had a couple Venom4200NiMh and they were horrible. He got a Venom 3200Lipo and it was much better but not close to performance of my Orion 3200 Lipo.
