Power capacitor question

I just got a Traxxas Slash, and I found a new Novak Mega Power Capacitor(part# 5673) in my parts drawer. Since I can't change out any of the stock gear to race, would I see any benefit to adding this capacitor to the esc? Also, how would I do it, wire it into the motor wires? Would it act like a power booster?

If your esc is running hot, the cap will help with temp, doubt you'll notice anything else. Cap helps damp out voltage spikes. You may also start seeing a spark when you connect the batt after installing the cap.

Splice it in at the batt conn on the esc + to + etc.

Sounds like it wouldn't hurt to install it, then, thanks!

Nope, def not. My new Quark 33a ProCar came with cap (smaller) already unstalled. Castle doesn't believe in them, but everyone I know with a MM runs with a cap. I use the one novak makes that plugs into the rx on my emax just cause it was convenient. The closer you have them located to the esc, the more effective they are.

We now offer a fuller line of our transcap modules---both for replacement on Novak controllers and as upgrades on other escs which use either internal or external capacitors:
