need recvr advice
 

I have a Micro 555 dual conversion FM reciever that, when the circuit board is in the case, has no more than 5-6 feet range with xmtr antenna down. If removed from the case Recvr seems to work intermittantly with great range.

If I extend the Xmtr antenna, reception is fine, in or out of the case.

Suggestions at to the cause of this problem would be greatly appreciated

Doesn't seem to me that you have a problem. AM & FM radios need the antenna out for proper operation.

If you don't want to have the transmitter antenna way out then get a 2.4GHz system like a Spektrum.
