Like I said in my earlier post, you'll be fine with the 35A ESC for an onroad car. I would still get the 60A, just so you can use it in what ever you want later on down the road.

OK for the On-Road car and the 35A+9T....
But what is the risk to use this system on a 1/10th 2WD Off-Road?

For offroad, it is more demanding for the electronics. There are several reasons for this: larger & heavier tires + wheels, car is heavier, offroad has less traction ... meaning more wheel spins, bumps & jumps etc...
basically all this require more work for the electronics (more stress on motor and ESC)

hobbywing's 35A has a motor limit at 9T (their 380 can) but this spec is rated for 1/10 & 1/12 onroad and not for offroad. of course, you can play with gearing a little to make it work, but on the safe side, its better to get the 60A.

having said all this, i ran my 35A + 9T for my RC10B4 (2WD buggy) without problems, but i know i am on the border line.

Yeah there have been a few people with a lot of luck with the 35A and 380 sized motors in buggies... as for me, I'll stick to the 60A for everything including TC Cars. The way I see it why have an ESC/Motor combo that you can only run in a certain car class. I want something that I can put in any of my cars.

Agreed, I only have 60A esc's. I run a 9t and a novak 6.5 in buggy and truck. They both haul ass and dont even get warm. For the small difference in price why bother with 35A?

the guys over at rc-monster have the HW 80a and 150a that's where i got my 150a for my BL truggy conversion it was $132 shipped to my door not bad i haven't wired it up yet or ran it yet but it looks promising the ESC is huge though!!

1/10 scale. B3 has a 60A/9t combo and the T3 has 60A/6.5(novak).
The esc's barely get warm over a 5 minute race.

Guys...I'm totally noob to brushless systems..please help me decide to choose these combos for my Slash:

EZRUN 60A + 8.5T or EZRUN 60A + 5.5T?

Im going to run 2S or 3S max...I also plan to put 17mm hex buggy wheels and tires for more traction.

My goal is to make her competitive to race with some nitro buggies at my local track (small sized but technical).

I have the 8.5T in my Slash and I'd say it's a perfect match. With proline switches I'm pulling wheelies on asphalt. We did a radar check and it came in at 35MPH with the 86T Spur and 23T Pinion. Geat setup! I think the 6.5T motor would be too much to control

i agree that [email protected] will be too much for 2wd offroad. [email protected] will be perfect. however, if you are planning to run 3s, 13.5T/10.5T will be the best match. thus, you have to decide 2s or 3s.

This setup will work out well for you..... but you won't reach your goal if those Nitro Buggies are 4wd. There is nothing you can do to a 2wd truck that will make it handle and keep up with a 4wd....drivers being equal. My .02 cents
