React
Any opinions,
Good/bad Been using the 3PK but I'm loosing the confidence with Futaba. The heat issues are a pain with the 2.4ghz stuff (OZ service will plead ignorance). I had a Sensor given to me to use before but never liked the inclined wheel angle or the tension of the steering (so I gave it back), at least with the React being based on a Mulitplex case it should feel ok. I've always thought the inside part of their radios were ok but would like to hear any comments. Thanks |
I have heard of this heat issue on this site before. Not once have I heard of it locally. What's the scoop on it? (sorry for the thread hijack)
As far as Nomadio goes...I was the biggest Nomadio supporter out there. SOLD EVERYTHING. They're too busy working with the military to focus on their RC side. I wouldn't touch a Nomadio product right now. I made the switch to Futaba (hence the question). |
I think it's probably about six RX units I've tested since my car shut down while using. it had been great but once it happens you just can't trust it anymore.
Various cut offs for each but they all shut down. LED goes red and it shuts down until the temp drops, once cool all is good but obviously the race is lost. Can't use the fail safe in the 1/5th car I have as it isn't an option in HRS/PPM so off it goes until the carb pulls back or hits something. Been getting the usual from OZ rep after a few calls and the unit being sent back and returned with no problem could be found claim, "haven't heard any other problems, have you checked your batteries blah, blah". The closest I got to an admission that there was some problems was a no comment, have to check with management. Had enough so I'm open to options. |
There are other great radios besides the 3pk. I personally don't understand why people would even consider ANY of the Nomadio stuff. They aren't an RC company-they don't seem to concerned/interested in this RC market, the radios themselves have a terrible feel and build quality.
Besided the 3pk the m11 is great with Spektrum module. Or keep the 3pk and switch to Spektrum module and Spektrum pro receivers. That is what I run and I have NEVER had a single glitch, inteference or problem. The Spektrum stuff acts like its not even there. Also the Ko Helios 10 and the EX 1. REally nice units. |
Thanks for the info but I think the KO doesn't have any mixing programs for front brakes.
I'm running 1/5th so this is needed. |
i actually like my react, my buddy has the sensor and it is very nice, but I also dont like the tension in the steering wheel. The react has very little tension and i prefer it that way. As far as support i have never had any problems.

...
I had a react and when I start buying up again I'm going to end up buying it again, works perfectly and where other radios suck for things like crawling I could use the same radio for my crawler, off-road buggy, on-road, even to control a tank.
Usually sour-pusses who have actually owned the radio ofc ourse had some sort of bad experience, but I really can't justify spending more on another radio that does less or at least doesn't do more. The case is very light but is not fancy in any sense but the technology works perfect and is comfortable to use, my radio isnt going to be used to shelf ina glass case. Best part is that its available for under 200 now, if it fits good in your hand go for it it has any feature you might want although I don't think they have one of tiny recievers for it yet, but I believe it works with some spektrum recievers as well. |
We have a bunch of guys still using the React and the Sensor. For those that don't like the fact that right now Nomadio is not making alot of stuff for the radios like recievers not a huge problem. Spektrum receivers will work just fine. The Nomadio radios still do it all no matter if Nomadio is upgrading at this time or not.
Nomadio is still servicing the products if you need it repaired so not a problem. I like both of the radios I had. Actually wish I still had my Sensor. The React I did have was killer but I like my steering wheel tension to be alot tighter. The weight of either Nomadio radio is light. Can't beat them for that. |
Thanks for the input guys.
Brought the React today. |
