HFX speed controller query

I'm in the process of upgrading one of my electric boats and was advised to go for a Hitec HFX S/JR speed controller.

In the past I've only used bog standard esc's.

Looking at the instruction leaflet there is one bit of wiring I do not understand having not come across this in my short time of radio control.

Coming from the ESC is an orange lead marked to FET Servo power.

What do I connect this to, and do I have to connect it

thanks

WTF is a bog standard esc?

Anyway, the jumper wire is only used with a fet servo. So, if you are using a standard or digital servo, you don't use the wire.

A very basic speed controller as used in scale boats etc - not a speed controller such as this for fast racing.

Anyway many thanks for clarifying the purpose of the lead

cheers

I too have several HFX ESCs and i love them.

Yes, The FET IS for specific servos. I just left it alone, doesn't make a difference. Just make sure that the wire isn't exposed, and that the insullation covers it.
