ESC problem

New to the forums. had a few questions/problems.

I have a GM-Racing V3R ESC with a 17 turn trinity motor. the problem that i am having is that the motor is faster in reverse tha FWD. the guy at the hobby shop said that i need to reverse or reset the ESC. anyone wanna ginve me some help?
