spektrum receiver problems..too much v??
 

I am having problems with my SR3000 receiver in my buggy. I been trying to figure out why it would just go to failsafe all the time. I know I have a fully charged battery and my esc is good etc... Well I just looked up my servo and it is a 7.2v instead of 6v. Could this cause be causing my problems because the voltage is more than a normal servo and the reciever doesn't like it???

Receiver will still work, up to 9volts. I use a 6cell, 7.2 volt pack(gas car). No problems.

Check to make sure your wiring from the battery pack to the receiver is not damaged and that the connector that plugs into the receiver is making good contact. What radio or module are you using and how long have you had it?

I do not use a reciever battery pack. This is a dx3.0 spektrum system. I run 1/10th electric trucks and buggies.

sorry, when you said buggy I was thinking you meant 1/8-scale buggy. What speedo are you using?

Mine did the same thing when it would get 50-75 feet from the Tx. What I found was the antena wire was broken within the receiver case. Unit worked fine right next to transmitter and would gto into failsafe due to the shortened antena.

How is spektrum on warrating their stuff?? I guess I will have to send it in.

they are awesome.....they repaired one module (broken plastic antenna) and one rx (steering stopped working).....both for free and I got them back about 10 days ( me shipping to me recieving)

This problem is probably due to the amount of current being pulled by the steering servo. If you fit the Spektrum voltage protector part number SPM1600 you should solve your problem. I have had this issue and now fit this item to all of my race cars.

It is also vital if you are running an AMB personal transponder as well.

Damunn - I believe you are correct, tonight I ran same setup except I used a 6v servo, I didn't glitch at all. Not even once.

I will be getting me that part (the voltage protector).
